Hotter Than July .....

Hands up if you wish you had air con in the house? Its positively tropical here in Devon and after a couple of weeks off shortly before the end of lockdown we are all certainly feeling the heat in the kitchen. That said its more than fantastic to be back in my chef whites doing what I love best. Reading that over 22,000 jobs have been lost in the restaurant trade alone makes me feel incredibly fortunate that we made it through. Yes there are challenges and there's always something in the news to make us all mindful that this may not be over, but we remain on our toes, not taking anything for granted and ensuring that we keep you all safe and sound as you eat with us. It has been just great seeing old friends and new faces. This weekend we welcomed back Owen Jones and Catherine Courtney from Devon Life on their first visit out after lockdown and fabulous Richard and Angela Valder from Angela's Restaurant in Exeter, sadly a victim of Covid-19. We wait with great excitement to see what happens in their next chapter. Richard was just the most amazing friend during lockdown, sending me words of strength and encouragement throughout.

YOUR SAFETY IS EVERYTHING

We received a wonderful review after this weekend's service, from a wonderful friend to La Petite Bouchée who like so many was understandably nervous about returning to a restaurant. We talked about how we were both pretty nervous and how I felt the weight of responsibility not just for our guests and team but for my family too, this is, after all our home too. I know we have done everything possible to follow Government guidelines, producing the HSE required risk & cleaning assessments, the required social distancing, Covid-19 related signage and sanitising stations - we literally can't do anymore.

We have also been passed finally by the AA COVID-19 confident scheme and given our certificate. Just so that people are aware. They really do go through all your paperwork with the proverbial tooth comb - risk assessments, staff training, cleaning, food hygiene ratings the lot. It's not like other schemes where you just answer a few tick box questions. You have to upload everything and wait !

A SPECIAL THANK YOU OFFER TO EVERYONE WHO ORDERED TOGO DURING LOCKDOWN....

Last weekend we celebrated our 6th Birthday. It's been quite a journey, from hugely personally challenging times in 2015 and 2019, a relocation and now a pandemic. We are so thankful for the support we've had from our amazing customers in South East London and here in beautiful Devon. To say a massive thank you to everyone who supported us during lockdown, we are offering 15% off each meal to everyone who ordered from TOGO. Simply book a table between 14th July and October 31st before August 31st to take full advantage of this offer. Using the code TOGO2020 ( we have a list to check the names off )

HAPPY 6th BIRTHDAY TO US

Here's a look back at the last 6 years ... in 1 minute !

NEW TEAM

In other news our new team have settled in now and are virtually old hands, after a wobble on night one we're sailing through service and the feedback has been very positive. Thank you to everyone for their patience that first weekend. Dani, Callum and Amelia have really risen to this challenge and this weekend they nailed it !

LA PETITE BOUCHEE DINING ROOM

The dining room is still as light and airy as ever and socially distant tables mean there is only room for 12 guests. It's perfectly safe with automatic sanitisers in the entrance and in various spots in the restaurant. We have got to great lengths to ensure that very little has changed and that you can still enjoy a post Covid-19 lockdown meal without any worries. Have look through the slide show below at some of the delicious dishes on the menu & don't forget Fruit de mer is always available, just simply ping us an email to get a price !
