OUR STORY

 

Beinvenue  à La Petite Bouchée, our Multi-Award wining hospitality business.

 

Originally starting life in August 2014 in Sydenham Wells Park, South East London with our beloved Citroen HY camper Demelza, we've built a fantastic, well loved brand and have served literally tons of mussels, kilo's of steak and more in the past 8 years and since opening our doors here in Witheridge in May 2017, we've  also accrued quite a haul of awards including 6 Gold awards from Taste of The West and awards from Food and Drink Devon, Devon Life and Devon Tourism Awards.

PANDEMIC

During the pandemic we morphed into a ready meal and recipe box business, serving over 1300 ready meals locally during lockdown one. We opened again with all the restrictions in place with half the covers due to social distancing and again thought outside the box opening our Private Dining Room and dragging poor Demelza out of retirement. During the second lockdown we introduced Restaurant TOGO which enabled our customers to enjoy a slice of La Petite Bouchée at home. Life then returned to some resemblance when we returned to service in May 2021.

POST PANDEMIC

Life just sailed along beautifully for us until the energy prices increased and disposable income for all of us became as rare as hens teeth. Bookings during the second quarter were down 67% year on year and again adopting the famous "Adapt or Die" edict and we have again changed our business in order to return service once this current economic crisis plateaus out. On August 27th La Petite Bouchée paused restaurant service. We haven't closed our doors, we are simply being proactive in ensuring the survival of our business. La Petite Bouchée is very much alive and you can still enjoy our food, just differently.

We can take care of all the logistics around your event or simply supply the food. Our involvement is entirely up to you.

 

Each of our events is bespoke meaning  we tailor everything to suit your taste and budget. We'll invite you to a no obligation meeting in person or online to discuss your needs so that we can provide you with the experience you want and take the pressure off you.

Our highly professional team has over 40 years experience in hospitality and events. Our Chef is Chef Patron of Multi-Award winning Brasserie La Petite Bouchée in North Devon. 

Our front of house team are exemplary and we can outsource using our network of contacts for any additional needs you might have. 

LOCALLY SOURCED

All of the produce and ingredients we use comes from locally sourced, small business based within a 20 mile radius of our base, here in N. Devon

Our fish is sustainable and our meat, poultry and game is traceable. 

We have a fantastic network of suppliers who we have worked with for past 5 years +

LOCALLY SOURCED, COOKED FROM SCRATCH 

We work tirelessly with our suppliers to ensure that we consistently get the best produce and ingredients available to us. We are proud to say that 93% of the ingredients we use have been sourced within a 25 mile radius of our HQ and 90% within a 10 mile radius.

 

It's important to us to know where the food we cook with comes from. It's equally as important for us to be able to tell you with confidence where the things you are eating and drinking come from. Just ask one of us, if you want to know and we'll be delighted to tell you or you can simply visit our suppliers page for the complete low down.
