The decision to divide our time between the restaurant and private events and dining was not an easy one. Thankfully, it has been the right decision and we are so grateful that we continue to be busy - we are taking bookings past August 23. The majority of our work is centred around the West Country and in the main, our clients are a joy to work with.

Staying in, appears to be the new going out !

We work predominantly with high end holiday destinations mainly in Devon, Cornwall and Somerset and at private houses. We also do corporate work in offices or at conference venues. We also hire out La Petite Bouchée for both with (12 minimum in the restaurant and 6 in the private dining room) Occasions include:

We thought we'd give you a little insight into what we do in the private events side of our La Petite Bouchée Business.

The Process

Perhaps the thought of hiring a private chef seems daunting or posh and horribly expensive? It's actually far more cost effective than heading out to dine and no one has to drive!

It really is as easy as agreeing a date, paying a fixed deposit, choosing a menu and handing over your kitchen. We'll even wash up and leave your kitchen sparkling !

There are a number of sample menus on our website These are designed to give you ideas for your own menu. 90% of our menus are bespoke in consultation with our clients. Your input is key to delivering the perfect event for you. Our Terms & Conditions are completely transparent and these include our pricing structure.

Areas Covered

We mainly work in Devon Somerset and occasionally Cornwall. We will work outside these areas, however, depending on distance mileage and overnight stays may need to be factored in. It is always worth a conversation.

New Menu Launch

In consultation with regular customers and other business' in the private dining arena, it appears there is also need for an " Off The Peg" Menu and in response we are launching our new Winter Menu, available from November 2022 -March 2023. This option is perfect with 2-6 course options including canapé and petite four bolt ons and prices start at just £30.00 for 2 courses with a minimum of 2 people.

We can also provide wine flights and curated wine lists for every occasion in conjunction with our amazing wine merchant Moorwine Our diners at La Petite Bouchée often remark on the quality of our wine list. Our wine is unique and cannot be bought in retail establishments.

For larger events we would organise a wine tasting before the event to ensure you are happy with your choices.


We are also launching our canapés collection for those customers who like to entertain friends and family or clients at home. With the party season looming handing over the catering for your cocktail or diner party means you can enjoy the company of your guests without worrying about whether your next course is cooked. We do a selection of both hot and cold canapés, savoury and sweet. We are also able to supply front of house staff and bar staff for your occasion.

If you're wondering about how many canapés or petite fours to order and the general rule of thumb is entirely dependent on the occasion.

Pre- Lunch or dinner drinks 5 pieces per guest 3-4 different canapés

First Course Canapés 6 pieces per guest 4-5 different canapés

Drinks Parties/reception 10 pieces per guest 7-10 different canapés

( 2.5 hours approx)

Canapé-only evening party 14 pieces per guest 8-14 different canapés

Prices are dependant on numbers.


November: 9th 11th, 18th

December : 9th, 21st, 28th 29th, 30th

January : 5th 13th 27th 28th ( the rest is annual leave)
