Where's the time going ?


We cannot believe that we are staring at November mid-week. It seems only yesterday that we are wondering how to keep the restaurant cool and now the heaters are on full blast and the door very firmly shut ! It's been a cracking October, we've met so many new guests, some who have even travelled long distance to eat with us. It's so very much appreciated as are our very loyal and regular guests !


WHERE TO STAY

Can we remind people reading this who aren't necessarily in Devon that we have a page on the website packed with local places to stay. We've met the owners of nearly all of these places and cannot recommend them enough. Just have a look at the WHERE TO STAY section if you're interested.

NOVEMBER 2017

I have to say this time of year is my favourite time of year, lots of ribs-sticking classics coming up as well as some new additions to the menu. We're about 56% booked for November already with November 4th booked out for a private party. More rumours .....( Yawn)

We've heard that the latest rumours circulating about us are that we serve luke-warm food and small portions.... Those long winter evenings must just fly by at Rumour Mill Central, still it keeps us hugely entertained and there's no truth in it at all just look at this guest on Saturday night waiting to leave the restaurant !


AWARDS TIME ... AGAIN

Finally,We're off to Sandy Park on Thursday night for the Devon Life Food and Drink Awards where we are up for 'Best Newcomer'. The independent judge was in a couple of weeks ago, we had no idea. Fortunately we had some of our regular guests who were waxing lyrical, not knowing who he was ( glass of fizz on me next time you're in - you know who you are!) He said he loved it, so lets cross everything crossable that it was enough to win. Again, just to be nominated then shortlisted to the final three after such a short time is win enough, there's just a little space left next to my beloved parents picture for the rather lovely plate - I think they'd like that.
