Chef’s Table Debut: A Great Evening of Seasonal Food

Last night we hosted our inaugural Chef’s Table, and it was everything we hoped it would be. Warm, intimate, flavour-driven and full of good energy. After three weeks battling flu and feeling far from well, there were naturally a few little teething challenges to navigate but nothing that took away from the food, the flow or the magic of the night.

A huge thank you to everyone who made it possible from our brilliant team, suppliers and to our guests who came with such enthusiasm. We showcased an incredible seasonal menu, full of depth and West Country character, and seeing everyone enjoy each course was incredibly humbling .

What moved me most was having people back in the restaurant after eight months. It’s been quite a year, and hearing voices in the room again, seeing the candles lit, the plates flowing, and the space alive makes me insanely happy.

Exmoor Food Fest — Something Special This February

We’re also thrilled to share a little more about our plans for Exmoor Food Fest 2026. This year, we’re doing things differently — pushing ourselves creatively and showcasing the full breadth of what we do here.

Throughout February, we’ll be offering a different menu every single week, each one celebrating a distinct side of our brasserie-style cooking:

  • Week 1: Traditional French flavours with favourites such as Coq au Vin, Sole Meunière and refined vegetarian dishes.

  • Week 2: Modern elegance — think warm oysters with champagne sabayon and beautifully crafted fish dishes.

  • Week 3: Refined classics including Cassoulet Toulousain and a rich Bouillabaisse Marseillaise.

  • Week 4: A balance of innovation and comfort with dishes like Gigot d’Agneau and sophisticated vegetarian confits.

We’ll also be opening for Thursday lunch services throughout February, perfect for those who prefer a relaxed daytime dining experience, and offering Parisian-style Afternoon Tea on two select dates.

It’s an exciting, ambitious month — one that lets us celebrate the best of the West Country while showcasing the dishes our guests love most.

More details, menus, and booking information will follow very soon… but trust us, it’s shaping up to be one of our favourite events of the year.
